Website Services Updates
Notes on Recent Design and Prepress Color Proofing Website Services Updates.
So I have been pretty busy. It is finally that time of year. The weather is amazing and the workload is maintaining a constant push. Some of my recent projects have included a rebuild of the main website of tremblayletterpress.com (jacobtremblay.com) and improved website services updates with the introduction of new Prepress Color Proofing Services. Well almost.
New Website Design
August 27, 2017: On Friday afternoon I tried to make a small addition to the site and realized that only the home page was visible. None of the links or other pages were functioning properly. A broken site means I just spent the whole weekend rebuilding the entire thing.
So welcome to the new Tremblay Letterpress Printing Company website. Not too bad for a couple days work.
There is still much to do. Although the majority of the work has been completed; please excuse the Lorum Ipsum scattered throughout the site… I am working on it I promise!
This rebuild included all new graphics, improved mobile friendly responsive design and a band some buildout on other site sections. I am expanding the design services section and also starting to build out a prepress section and started work started work on integrating the ecommerce design aspects of a commercial site. I find this part the hardest.
Prepress Color Proofing Services. Almost.
Nov 3, 2017: I was recently doing some surfing i.e. online research for some bar code creation software. In the process I discover a nifty little piece of RIP software called PrintFab. Now I have been looking for RIP software for my epson for quite some time now. I don’t have a large budget and I cannot afford to drop $800 dollars on software. And then I found PrintFab. Home version is only $54 bucks; Pro version $150.
I have downloaded the trial version (http://www.printfab.net) and I am now in the process of running color tests and comparisons to printed pieces and some agency proofs. Right out of the box I’m already impressed. I will be posting my results in a later post.
As a result of this wonderf
ul discovery, Tremblay Letterpress will now be able to offer Prepress Color Proofing Services. More to come on this.
More to come… Stay tuned. We have some items ready to hit the press as soon since the weather has changed an we can once again work in the shop. It was so hot and humid this summer… We have plans to close in and air condition the shop for next summer. Plans. We’ll see how that goes.
